Working Arrangements
Once you are accepted as a Floorstars member, we will jointly sign an agreement which sets out our working arrangements.
1/ You will be registered on our App system and can start work immediately.
2/ It will take several months for work to build up – so be patient.
3/ You will undertake an online course which covers:
Using the App
Customer Service Standards Survey Policy & Standards
Installation Policy & Standards
Sub Floor Preparation Standards
Goods Receipt Plans
Supplying Accessories
The Installer Buy/Sell Back Scheme
Getting Paid
When things go Wrong
Supplying Extras
4/ Whilst not essential, a Drop Point that can receive goods in working hours is a distinct advantage.
5/ Our customers need to be confident they can send you to their customer’s homes and premises. You must supply a DBS check to work with us. If you don’t have a Certificate you can click on the link below to receive an Enhanced Check Certificate with our Group Discount.
6/ Things will go wrong – that’s life. To protect yours and the company’s interests, we require our installers to hold a comprehensive Flooring Specific insurance policy that covers Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Defective Workmanship. This enables us both to deal with issues in a customer focussed manner and can also be used for work undertaken whilst sub-contracting to other businesses. If you do not have cover, please click on the link below to secure a Policy with our Group Discount.
7/ You will have the option to join our Pro-fit Installer Buy/Sellback Scheme. So far as we know, Floorstars are the only UK business to offer our installers a margin on products they use from their own stockholding. It could not be simpler. You buy a starter stockholding of underlay, metals and gripper and sell it back to us with a 30% profit margin.
8/ The Pro-fit scheme also enables you to purchase a wide range of flooring & accessories products at discounted Pro-fit rate. You can buy these products to build a more profitable business that complements your work for us.
9/ Our Agreement has a clause which prevents you dealing direct or taking additional payment from our customer’s customers without first seeking permission. Floorstars get access to customers through a contractual relationship with leading online retailers. This contract prohibits our sub-contractors from soliciting business from their customers and it is vital for all of us to honour this contractual obligation. If a retailer leaves us owing to the wrongful actions of one member, it adversely impacts every other Floorstars Installer in the UK.
10/ Your Field Manager is your day to day contact for any issues you encounter and a source of support and technical advice. If they cannot answer a specific technical issue they will refer it to a colleague in the field Team who has that knowledge. Within our ranks, Floorstars have the best Technical resources anywhere in the UK Flooring Industry.
